Clinical Efficacy of Roxatidine acetate on Peptic Ulcer Disease

Abstract
|

|
The clinical efficacy and safety of roxatidine, new histamine H2-receptor antagonist, were evaluated in 34 patients with peptic ulcer disease.
Thirty four patients were treated with roxatidine 150mg q.d_ up to the 6 weeks.
The observed results were as follows;
1) There was an excellent symptomatic improvement ¢¥in all patients with peptic ulcer disease.
2) Endoscopic examination after the treatment with roxatidine alone proved excellent efficacy;
93.7% out of 16 gastric ulcer patients and 94.4% of 18 duodenal ulcer patients were cured.
3) There were no significant side effects except one case of mild generalized weakness.
